Why do I need a budget?

Your income is the single most powerful wealth building tool you have available to you. Consider this: If your family makes $50,000 a year for the next 25 years, that is $1.25 million that will come into your hands. Even if you pay 25% in taxes, that is still $937,500 that makes it to you.

But if you aren’t aware of what comes into your hands, you won’t ever feel the full value of what you have. You’d never realize what you had until you look back and do the math.

Most people make money and wonder where it went. A budget is you determining what is important to you and you sending it where you want it to go. It isn’t someone else telling you how to spend your money. It is you determining your financial goals and making a plan to get there.
